Here is a recipe for garlic naan without yeast that you can try at home:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions:
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the yogurt and milk.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
- Preheat a griddle or large pan over medium-high heat.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out each ball of dough into a thin circle.
- Brush one side of the dough with melted butter and sprinkle with minced garlic and cilantro (if using).
- Place the dough, butter-side-down, onto the preheated griddle or pan.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until bubbles start to form on the surface.
- Flip the naan and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until it is lightly browned.
- Repeat with the remaining dough.
- Serve the naan warm, with your choice of dipping sauces or toppings. Enjoy!
