Chocolate Cake Recipe

 




Here is a recipe for a simple chocolate cake that serves 8-12 people:

Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth. The batter will be thin.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  7. Remove the cakes from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before removing them from the pans to cool completely on a wire rack.
  8. Once the cakes are completely cool, you can frost them with your favorite chocolate frosting. Enjoy!
