chicken Sandwich Recipe

Here is a recipe for a classic chicken sandwich:

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • vegetable oil, for frying
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and basil.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the bowl with the marinade and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 24 hours.
  3. In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, salt, and pepper.
  4. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees F (95 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with paper towels.
  5. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat until the oil reaches 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) on a deep-fry thermometer.
  6. Working in batches, remove the chicken breasts from the marinade and coat them in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  7. Carefully place the coated chicken breasts in the hot oil and cook until they are golden brown and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes per side.
  8. Transfer the cooked chicken to the prepared baking sheet and keep warm in the oven while you cook the remaining chicken breasts.
  9. Toast the hamburger buns, if desired. Assemble the sandwiches by placing a fried chicken breast on each bun and topping with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise.
  10. Serve the sandwiches hot and enjoy!

You can also add other toppings to your chicken sandwich, such as pickles, mustard, or cheese.
